 Virtual Events 2020-2021

We are pleased to present our Virtual Events 2020-2021 page.  This area will display all resources relating to upcoming events and provide an opportunity to learn more about Moorside High School.

Our school Open Evening is one of the highlights of the year – busy and colourful, vibrant and engaging, it showcases everything which is great about Moorside High School. Unfortunately, we cannot host it this year, but we hope that our Virtual Open Evening clip can provide a flavour of what we are about as a school and a small insight to life at Moorside High School.

Dear Year 6 Student/Parent/Carer

Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 local lockdown restrictions, we are unable to invite you into our wonderful school this evening. I, like you, am choosing a secondary school for my eldest child. I understand this can be a difficult decision under traditional circumstances and we are endeavouring to make this year’s process as informed as possible for you, despite the obvious restrictions placed on us all.

If the local restrictions are lifted, we will offer tours and will advertise these on this page of the website, along with our Twitter and Instagram accounts. In the interim, to help support your decision making, we will be offering the following over the next few months:

  • Our virtual tour - this will be on the website for you to keep going back and revisiting along with the prospectus.
  • Meet the Headteacher – An opportunity to hear from myself as Headteacher, the Deputy Headteacher for Pastoral Care and the Deputy Headteacher Quality of Education and very importantly some of our Year 7 students (date to be confirmed).
  • Frequently asked questions - Moving to secondary school is a milestone in any child's life. If you have any questions, please submit them by clicking here. We will then stream a frequently asked questions video to address any queries.
  • Video question and answer sessions with our feeder primary schools – Our Head of Transition will be setting up video links to answer any questions and allow you to speak to our Year 7 students about life at Moorside High School.

We are exceptionally proud of our school and are always very happy to welcome visitors who are considering joining our wonderful, rapidly growing community.

Yours faithfully

 Mr C Davis

Headteacher
