Report an incident of Safeguarding at Moorside High School through SHARP.
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is defined as:
- Protecting children from maltreatment;
- Preventing impairment of children’s health or development;
- Ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care;
- Taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes.
Everyone who comes into contact with children and their families has a role to play in safeguarding children. School is particularly important as they are in a position to identify concerns early and provide help for children, to prevent concerns from escalating. Schools and their staff form part of the wider safeguarding system for children. This system is described in statutory guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education 2019 and Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018.
Schools and colleges work with social care, the police, health services, and other services to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm.

Moorside High School works with ‘The Bridge Partnership’ and Safeguarding Partnerships. Safeguarding Partnerships are responsible for making sure that children and young people in Salford are safe. Moorside High School and Safeguarding Partnerships have the same aim to make keeping children safe everybody’s business.
All reports or inquiries concerning the welfare or safety of a child must go straight to the Bridge Partnership on 0161 603 4500 as the first port of call. Bridge Partnership is available Monday to Friday from 8:30am — 4:30pm.

Meet the Moorside Safeguarding Team:
Moorside High School has a designated safeguarding lead and safeguarding team who will provide support to staff members to carry out their safeguarding duties and who will liaise closely with other services such as children’s social care.
