At Moorside, we are always keen to develop our school environment to best meet the needs of our students. With this in mind, we are excited to share that we are relocating our current Mez Room to a new and improved space, which will now be known as the Academic Intervention Centre.
Mr Birchall writes this letter really proud and very excited to be continuing as your child’s Head of Year. Year 8 was an enjoyable and successful year. So many of the 240 students have developed myriad positive habits, which he is certain they will carry forward with them into Year 9.
As the Summer is now over, and we have started Year 11, Ms Stephan would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all your support throughout the last academic year and to say that she is more than pleased to continue to be your child’s Head of Year.
As we are moving into a new academic year, Mr Halsall's extremely pleased to remain as your child’s Head of Year and be there to support them throughout their first year of their GCSE courses. His aim is to continue building on the successes the year group have achieved in Year 8 and Year 9 and watch them continue to grow and develop during Year 10.
Mrs Gandy is thrilled to introduce herself as your child’s new Head of Year. Having previously worked as pastoral support for the outgoing Year 11 cohort, she has had the privilege of supporting students through some of the most important and challenging moments of their school journey. That experience has deepened her commitment to nurturing young people both academically and personally.
A warm welcome you and your child to Team Moorside as they begin their journey into high school. Starting Year 7 is an exciting milestone, and we are committed to ensuring that every student settles in well, feels supported, and has the opportunity to thrive both academically and personally.
