Year 11 Parents Newsletter.
Published 08/12/23It has been really pleasing to see over the past term, the increasing numbers of our Year 11 students who are now accessing the extensive intervention sessions that are available to them. As you are aware, we have breakfast workshops, after school revision classes and Saturday School. Alongside this, all students take part in extra English and maths retrieval and exam practice sessions during R time.
The mock exams will be taking place after the Christmas break, running from Wednesday 10th January until Friday 26th January. All students have been given the mock exam timetable and a copy of this is also available on the school website.

Year 11 GCSE PE Parent Information Evening
Published 01/12/23We would like invite you to a Year 11 GCSE PE parent information evening to discuss the process of gathering video evidence for the practical element of the course. The evening will take place on Tuesday 5th December 2023 at Moorside High School 5:00-5:30pm. During the evening, we will share information regarding the exam board requirements for how to present video footage, and how best to capture your child’s performance in their sports.

GCSE in Business and Enterprise Newsletter
Published 16/11/23As part of GCSE in Business and Enterprise, students will complete several components across the two years.
The first formal assessment for Component 1 will take place in February 2024. For this component, students will be supervised to complete a non-examined assessment. They will be asked to write about a micro, small or medium enterprise, this would typically be a business with a maximum of 249 employees. The students can choose the business they wish to research, they will need to find out information about the enterprise and the entrepreneur who runs the business. The aim is to find out what they do, to make their business successful.
